Thanksgiving Weekend

Happy Thanksgiving yoga friends! I hope you are able to relax and connect with people who are important to you - in whatever form makes sense.
Right now, I am feeling grateful for:
· Being able to host family for Thanksgiving this year
· My dehydrator, which facilitates many healthy treats like cinnamon walnuts and apple chips

· noticing my breath throughout the day, and using it as a reminder to be present
Teaching schedule notes:
· I will be teaching my regular classes this week: Roxborough Y Friday (10am), and Saturday (9am); zoom on Sunday (10am – register online at jmayyoga.offeringtree.com)
· I experimented with a Tuesday morning mobility yoga class on zoom (8-9am), but it wasn't getting traction. If you are interested in zoom yoga on a weekday, let me know if morning, noon, or evening is best.
· I am teaching a six week pop-up yoga series at Chestnut Hill United Church on Wednesdays 10-11am, Dec. 1 - Jan. 5. Check out my website for details: jmayyoga.offeringtree.com

A pose for holiday de-stress:
· legs up the wall pose (viparita karani) - a passive inversion that will downregulate your nervous system; decrease your heart rate and blood pressure; and support digestion and immunity. You can use a strap to hold your legs together for even less required effort. If you don't have wall space, set up like the second picture, with your hips up on a block and feet pressing up towards the ceilling. The strap makes it easier to hold your legs in place. Challenge yourself to stay for five minutes and notice the effect after you come out.

Hugs to you all!!!
